Mr. Matthew Gullett- Music Teacher

Mr. Gullett is in his 7th year as the music teacher at Tetzlaff Middle School. In addition to serving as the music teacher at Tetzlaff, Mr. Gullett is also an elementary band teacher for Leal elementary, and works as a Visual and Assistant Director for the Gahr High School Marching Gladiators who won the SCJA State Grand Championships the past 4 years. He has previously served as a band teacher at Fedde Middle School and Niemes Elementary School as well as being the Assistant Director of the Long Beach State Pep Band. In his 5 years at Tetzlaff, Mr. Gullett has continued the rich tradition of success both in parade competitions and festival results with the advanced band winning numerous awards throughout his tenure. This year, he looks forward to continued success in our performing arts as they continue to grow and develop at Tetzlaff Accelerated Learning Academy!!
Mr. Gullett holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from CSU Long Beach, where he studied tuba with studio musician John Van Houten, and has studied with David Holben. He graduated Cum Laude as an undergraduate student and received numerous presidents awards for high achievement in academics. Mr. Gullett holds membership in Southern California Band and Orchestra Association, California Music Educators Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.

Mrs. Lauren De La Cruz- Dance Coordinator

Mrs. De La Cruz has been the dance and colorguard instructor at Tetzlaff since 2004. Since she has been a part of the program, Mrs. De La Cruz has led the colorguard to numerous sweepstakes awards in parade competition, created a championship caliber dance program that consistently places in the top 3 in the state and has started a cheer program that supports the sports teams at home games.
In addition to her work at Tetzlaff, Mrs. De La Cruz also operates Quest Dance Studio in Artesia that features premiere hip hop group "Q-Minor" among many other dance classes and ensembles. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Biological Science from University of California Irvine where she graduated with high honors.

Mr. Michael Raymundo- Assistant Band Director/ Drum Major Coach

Mr. Raymundo studied Music Education at CSU Long Beach with an emphasis in euphonium. Mr. Raymundo has been serving as the Assistant Band Director for the Tetzlaff band program since 2013. In that time he has been helping teach music, visual for marching band, and serving as our Drum Major Instructor.
In addition to teaching at Tetzlaff, he has also taught as a visual coach with Gahr, Millikan and Laguna Beach High Schools, is currently the drumline coach at Fedde Middle School, and and has performed with the CSULB Pep Band, Symphonic Band and Concert Bands.

Mr. Buenaobra- Dance Teacher

Ervin Buenaobra - Ervin Buenaobra has over 12 years of dance experience from being with several teams over the years. Mr. B began dance journey at the age of 11, right here at Tetzlaff Middle School. He then moved up to Cerritos High, joining their Dance Team and becoming a Leader by his Sophomore year. After graduating in 2012, he was offered a coaching position and helped lead the team to two USA National Championship titles in Hip Hop. Mr. B currently dances and directs PAC Modern, a collegiate Hip Hop team that is an extension of the Pilipino American Coalition (PAC) from Cal State Long Beach. He has competed at all of Southern California’s most prestigious competitions including World of Dance, VIBE, Body Rock, Fusion, and Ultimate Brawl. Mr. B also teaches at Quest Studio in Artesia, is a certified Breakdance Instructor for WeBreak Hip Hop Dance Company, and spends his spare time fishing with his Dad and practicing his breakdance moves. Mr. Buenaobra will teach ‘Movement Madness! Hip Hop for All.’
Ms. Ryanna Declines

Originally from Sacramento, California-- Ryanna Jordanne Declines's movement style is influenced by hip hop and street dancing including house, whacking, locking and urban choreography. Ms. Declines also trained in jazz, contemporary, modern and Tahitian dance at a young age. Declines' technical training took off at Elite Studio of Dance and continued in seminars held by UC Davis' Mondavi Center as well as local arts programs throughout the Sacramento region. In the Mondavi workshops series, she trained with several companies including Ronald K. Brown Limon Dance Company, and Alvin Ailey. In 2013, Declines moved to Long Beach and started in a hip hop collegiate route by competing with PAC Modern and later Irvine's Common Ground in 2015. She has also competed at various competitions all over California including Vibe Dance Competition, A Mustard Seed Production's Body Rock, Team Millennia's Bridge and Bridge Norcal, Evolution, Fusion, and Ultimate Brawl. Declines is a recent graduate from California State University, Long Beach. Currently she dances for Hall of Fame Dance Team in West Covina and teaches at Quest Dance Studio in Artesia in addition to Tetzlaff.
Ms. Melissa Seager- Colorguard Teacher

Ms. Melissa is entering her 2nd year teaching colorguard with at Tetzlaff. She previously performed as a colorguard member right down the street at Whitney HS before moving to Louisiana to attend college and earning her bachelors degree from Louisiana State University.
