Jazz band

We are proud to offer students an after school jazz band experience that meets 2 times per week on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:20- 3:45PM after school.  The ensemble is open to any students currently in our Advanced Band class and students are able to play their current instrument or learn a secondary instrument that is a "traditional" jazz instrument.  We may allow students who play piano, guitar, electric bass or drum set and are not currently in our advanced band class on a case by case basis.  

Students in this ensemble will learn to play jazz styles such as swing, rock, latin and funk as well as a few "pop" songs they know from the radio.  The ensemble is not an official class, and there is no grade received for participation.  

The Tetzlaff Jazz Band performs at our Winter Band Showcase, Spring Concert, End of the Year Concert in the Park, and other community and school events as they arise.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will beging in November once our marching season has ended.  Rehearsal days are Mondays and Thursdays from 2:20- 3:45PM

Who Can Join
Students currently enrolled in advanced band or by exception from Mr. Gullett only

Is There An Audition?
There is no audition for this ensemble, however students who are not able to keep up with the music through their own personal practice may be asked to no longer participate.
